Instructions for Submission of Registration Application

* All names requested must contain 18 characters or less, including spaces and punctuation. The names of colts must start with the first letter or the sire's name.

* If your horse has been registered in another studbook, please attach a copy of both sides of that registration certificate to this application. If the horse has never been registered before, please attach copies of the sire and dam's registration certificates.

* If your horse's dam is a Jockey Club registered Thoroughbred, please request a five generation pedigree for her from www.equineline.com and attach it to the foal's application for registration. Send this in addition to the copy of her Jockey Club papers.

* Be sure to include all fees payable for the registration, DNA typing, and membership along with your application. Every animal must be DNA typed. If more than one animal needs to be typed (ie: mare and foal), you qualify for the multiple kit rate.

* If you are not a current member, please include a completed membership application along with your horse's registration application. All fees are doubled for non-members.

* Four (4) color photographs are required for your horses' file. They need not be professional quality, as they are for ID purposes only. Make sure all markings are clearly visible.  Please write the name of the horse on the back of all four photos.

* Please be aware that an unregistered (unpapered) mare must be registered at the same time as her foal in order for the foal to be eligible for registration. The mare and foal will both be expected to attend an AWR inspection the fall immediately after submission of the applications.

* The Breeder of a horse is the owner of that horses' dam at time of foaling.

* You need not give measurements for height, bone, and girth when registering a foal or youngster less than 3 years of age.
