YOUNG BREEDERS TRAINING SEMINARS

The 2008 World Championships for Young Breeders will be held August 17-20 in Ireland.
The 2008 AWR/ASPR Young Breeders Seminar and Team Selection for this year's World Championships will be held in Kansas City June 20-23.  The seminar is open to young breeders from the ages of 14-24.  The cost for the seminar is $1400 USD per participant.  In addition to hands-on training, it also includes study materials, exam, and room & board.  For more information please contact the Business Office at 406-734-5499 or amerwarmblood@aol.com.

Registration for this seminar is CLOSED.

In preparation to be responsible future breeders of American Warmblood Registry horses (AWR), we encourage AWR young members to participate in this season’s Young Breeder’s Seminars.  Whether or not you actually want to become an international competitor should not discourage you from learning what it takes to be a good breeder of American Sporthorses.

Our guest speaker, the President of the AWR, Sonja Lowenfish, brings with her a lifetime wealth of information on the European way of presenting, judging and grading Warmblood horses. Sonja is the founder of the United States Holsteiner registry as well as the AWR and ASPR.

Each clinic will address three objectives: the education, testing and selection of the AWR Youth Judging Team for the WBFSH competition. Instruction will be given on presentation in hand, at liberty and free jumping.  This clinic will also provide an education to prospective Warmblood judges and breeders or interested persons in the correct way of presenting a horse at inspection. It will de-mystify some of the techniques used in the grading and presentation of horses the European way that is now becoming so popular in North America.

Training Seminars for young breeders in both the USA and Canada will be scheduled.
