Active Stallions
The below featured stallions are AWR registered and approved. They hold a breeding permit valid for the current breeding season. Please click on a stallion to obtain detailed information, or contact the Registry. The offspring of these stallions are eligible for registration in the American Warmblood Registry.
A newly approved stallion will receive a preliminary breeding license during which period he has to produce a minimum of ten foals with a score of 7 or higher. (Allowances for regional differences in breeding schedules will be made.) In addition, the stallion has to successfully pass a Performance Test in his designated discipline. A breeding stallion has gained his FULL and PERMANENT breeding license once all the above requirements have been met.

In the light of incidences of the Fragile Foal Syndrome (FFS) primarily in Warmbloods (and also in some Thoroughbreds), we urge mare owners who intend to breed to an untested stallion to have their broodmare FFS tested to avoid the possibility of a carrier (mare) to carrier (stallion) breeding. We also recommend that the owner of a carrier stallion require from the mare owner the presentation of a negative FFS test result as a prerequisite for realization of a breeding contract. Stallion owners are encouraged to make the FFS test results for their stallions public, and mare owners should thoroughly inquire before they make a breeding decision.
The FFS test results are reported as:
N/N: No copies of the FFS mutation present. Horse is normal.
N/FFS: 1 copy of the FFS mutation is present. Horse is normal but is a carrier. Mutation can be passed on to 50% of offspring.
