As the designated national governing body for 29 breeds and disciplines, US Equestrian stands at the heart of equestrian sport in this country. Over the last two decades, equestrian sport has grown larger, more complex, and more visible than ever before. With this growth comes not only opportunity, but also an immense responsibility — to protect the welfare of horses and athletes, to uphold fairness and integrity of competition, and to ensure that equestrian sport thrives for generations to come.
Our members have told us they want to see increased focus from us in the areas of horse welfare and research, safety (including addressing the ever-increasing biosecurity threats), technology, and member/fan engagement in keeping with our strategic plan.
We will be:
- Increasing investments in research on equine competition recovery, lameness, nutrition, and vitamins/supplements
- Expanding our regulatory and investigative team to ensure more expedient processing of reported cases and resolutions
- Building on our veterinary summit with ongoing partnerships in equine health, providing best practices for all breeds and disciplines
- Debuting EZ Entry in 2026, a free and fully integrated competition management software to streamline participation
- Creating a cutting-edge continuing education portal to serve all participants
- Deepening partnerships with data analysts to enhance safety and the championship experience, giving fans stronger connections and new reasons to celebrate our athletes
Noting that the membership fee structure has not changed in more than eight years, the Board reviewed and approved changes to the fee structure listed below that will support our future. These increases will allow us to continue offering existing benefits and to expand key areas of our work that members have told us they value most. These changes are not about maintaining the status quo — they are about investing in progress.
Beginning December 1, 2025, administrative fees (formerly $8) will increase to $10.
Show passes (formerly $45) will increase to $85.
Beginning April 1, 2026, the following fee changes will apply:
- Competing Membership fee will increase from $80 to $100
- Subscriber Membership Fee will increase from $25 to $35
- Annual Horse Recording will increase from $95 to $115
- Lifetime Horse Recording will increase from $300 to $500
- Individual Lifetime Foal Recording will increase from $35 to $50
You can save on your competing membership by enrolling in a three-year membership for $285.
